Gua Tempurung , Perak

This the first i went to Gua Tempurung, Gopeng Perak

As above the picture the Gua tempurung map

They have 2 different tour one is dry tour and another is dry & wet tour

We choose for the dry & wet tour where we going exploring the whole cave

Apparently, Gua Tempurung already exist since 8000 BC 

Its really one of the most precious cave in Malaysia

Here is the price list that separate the each tour ;)

Minimum tour at least 8 person per group 

Here we meet new friends to join us as group ;)

Started our journey at about 9am

Its really very dark there 

So is a must to bring headlight or touch light along.

but is advisable to wear head light

For the dry we need to walk about 1 hour and another is up to challenge for crawl under cave with the water current facing against us...

Of course if you are smart enough you will not do all the crawling part instead looking for short cut... just like i did.... Due of my knee injury the tour guide told me where to by pass the crawl area so i skip the crawling inside the water but again ........... I still manage to crawl for experience.

The whole journey take us about 2 hour to explore the whole cave

in the dark...... But is the first ever I went to cave for the different challenge...

Surabaya

After the Mt Ijen trip we split into 2 group 

1 group heading to Bali and we heading to Surabaya 

We reach Surabaya at 8pm .......

Long Journey and very tiring as well.

Lets talk about the room. I book in the internet for USD32( IDR105000) 

when we reach there we did add another bed which i think about ( IDR75000)

I use ASIA ROOMS to book my room there before my arrival.

Room rate :3 star for cleanliness

Bathroom: 1 star ( quite dirty) because we use public toilet 

Yes, we have to share bathroom and the toilet.

Anyway, its just for a night stop before we flying off to Kuala Lumpur (LCCT) 

Please remember to keep extra money for your airport tax : IDR150 000

Taxi fare from Sparkling hotel to Juanda Airport : IDR 80 000 to IDR 100 000

depend the traffic.

Mount Ijen

Mount Ijen or Kawah Ijen

From Yoschi Hotel 1012am , we heading to Mt Ijen already. 

Of Cause all of us damn tired... dont know who took our sleepy look ler... 

damn notty!

well, we did ask Adi to help us arrange the tour from Mt Bromo to Mt Ijen 

Price : IDR 385000 per/ pax

which including guest house / transportation fees from Yoshi to Mt Ijen to Bayuwangi to Surubaya town/ breakfast as well.

dinner - on our own expenses (but not nice ) yuck!

We actually by pass the sea while heading there

Again, when you reach Mt Ijen entrance please pay your own entrance fees dont depend your driver to pay on your behalf .....ok

We reach to Catimor Homestay at 1700 

Imagine we have from Mt Bromo to Mt Ijen almost 7 hours!

with only 1 hour stop for lunch 

Damn tiring!!!!

But your reward is the Hot Spring water where you can enjoy in the Catimor Guest House or you may choose to use the outside the Catimor  there another hot spring too and if you have enough time we might want to going up hill to waterfall

Unfortunately, we reach there too late. We have not enough time to go Waterfall.

But i do enjoy the Hot Spring especially its rain! 

Its Hot and Cold kinda feeling!

Emmmmmmm lets talk about the room!

Totally disappointed!

dont expect to much ler

We even found leech in our bathroom!!!!!!!!

Argh! and the staff argue with us thats not a leech!!!

damn him! when we said "lets put the little creature on your hand then we found out if it leech or not "

HE chicken out! thought we are stupid.... can't tell what is leech look like!

bad review for the room and the bathroom ...Yucks! dirty !

 

Ok come to our story here again

Wake up at 0345 get ourselves ready + packing our bag

0400 had our quick breakfast 

0435 start our journey up to Mt ijen

Road Condition : Off Road 

as we will pass by the coffee plantation along the way

Here we bump into a worker started carry out the sulfur

Anyway, for those have problem going up you may rent the bamboo stick only IDR1,000(RM0.35cents)

start our journey from base camp - we need to walk up to hill for 2.5km

perfect view for the mountain 

Yes we manage to reach first but ......

its very cloudy!

Apparently, the recommendation time to start hiking is 0400 and must reach to top before 0700 so you can enjoy the perfect view of the turquoise lake with clear sky.

We reach there at the about 0730 because we started late as we reach the base camp about 0515

Anyway, we did hired one of the worker to bring us down to the bottom for more clearly picture for the lake and how they process the out sulfur. So, again its also depend your bargain skill of getting the best price.....

or you may choose to walk down on your own of cause you must be careful for not disturb their way. As my understanding each basket they carried total weight roughly about 70kg to 80kg everyday.

of cox is really not recommend for those who have asthma 

the sulfur smell is really very strong

FYI, total time to walk down and uphill is 1 hours
a lot of time we need to give way to worker to walk up hill.

for sure and confirm the Water really in blue colour 

According to worker sometime the lake turn into red/yellow and even green colour

but he said its very rare cases

when we ask why its can turn into red/green.yellow 

well, he also dont know

We see how the sulfur being process out .

Its really priceless experiences 

Well we finish our tour and reach base camp about 0945 ;) 

with full of smile 

For those who plan to go Bali you may the ask your driver to take you Bayawangi to take express bus + ferry from there 2 hours from MT Ijen

For those for want to go back to Surabaya its will take roughly 5 hours 

If to airport i think should be about the same time too....

Mount Bromo

DAY1:

Take the Air Asia Flight from LCCT - 0720 am

Reach Surabaya Juanda Airport at rough 9:30am 

We have arrange a mini bus from Yocshi Hotel - IDR 100,000 p/person for 7 person (RM35/person)

Travel time from Airport to Yoschi roughly about 7 hours including lunch break

1st stop at the one of the local restaurant (about 12pm)

Had our first Indonesia meal Basok (Beef soup noodle) Gadu Gadu ( something like rojak in Malaysia)

Reach our Yoschi Hotel about 2pm and its raining day - praying for god no more rain for tomorrow morning 

The weather - just like Genting Highland or Cameran Highland ( roughly about 10 degree)

We have already make ourself comfortable at hotel.... the hotel kinda mini kampung type mix ala bali style in room - very comfortable 

Welcome drink for all of us ......WISH is Mojito! but is a tea mix with paper-mint ...nice!

After the welcome, we all decide to explore around the town see what they got 

first we check out the ini map which carve outside Yoschi Hotel 

then we pass by the mini strawberry farm nearby the Yoschi Hotel but was closed

so we just hang around outside to try our best to pick the strawberry for free.... but mission FAIL!

wahahahaha

when we decide to walk up hill we find another strawberry farm which is slightly smaller than 1st farm we went. Because is raining season not much strawberry we can stuck. we only manage to pluck roughly about 500gram of strawberry which cost us about IDR20,000 (RM7)

We continue our walking uphill to Scenic Lodge (new Hotel) where there cafe called Java Banana for coffee break.... ;) from the 1st strawberry going to Scenic Lodge tooks us 2.5km 

Finally, we are here at Scenic Lodge walking in to Java Banana Cafe at 5pm

For those for looking luxury staying - Im strongly recommend for Scenic Lodge
But expected to room rate above IDR900,000 onward

Must try : their signature Java coffee, fried banana with chocolate or plain

After having the tea break we heading back to Yoschi Hotel for our dinner.

Then, Adi from Yoschi Hotel ( the Manager) come to our table and brief us about the journey to Mt Bromo and Mt Ijen itinerary

Here is dinner ! recommended : their fried chicken !!!

Not bad for the dinner 

Wake up call will be at 0300  ( breakfast only will be serve at 8 am after Mt bromo trip)

0330 - Jeep will pick us from Yoschi Hotel 

Fees : IDR 80 000p/person (Rm28/person)

Entrance Fees: IDR 25000p/person( RM8.80)

Remark: You must go to counter pay your own entrance fees or you will cheated by jeep driver!!!!!!

 Even the  Yoschi Manager already warn us but we pass the $$$ to the jeep driver for him to buy the ticket but never return our $$$$ ( he took our balance IDR50000) 

Dont ask me why i did not demand the return back the money ...Long story and i really dont want to explained it .. what have done already done !

JUST BEWARE!!!!!!!!! 

Please go down from the jeep and buy your own tickets!

From Yoschi Hotel to Mt Bromo Look Out Point - 1 hour

Reach there about 0400 for sunrise 

Weather: above 10 degree below 20 degree

(a bit disappointed is not as cold as what they mention in most of the website- maybe it will happen ZERO degree if it raining while u walking up)

I thought now is raining season should be more cold.

And all of us cover ourself few layer of clothes just to keep us warm but when we reach the look out point.
God damn it! i freaking hot! Im wear at least 4 layer clothes just to keep me warm
I decided to take off at least 2pcs

Hire Horse to ride them on top but come to stairs 

you still have to walk you own ! hehehehe

Must bargain you know

Normally, they offer 1 way trip for IDR25000

but i hear from a friend he manage to bargain IDR10000 for one way trip!

i guess much depend how good is your bargain skill

As for me.... biasa lar im very kedekut for sure i walk for free!

Still can burn more calories mar

total step about 238 slightly shorter compare batu cave 280steps

reach to Yoschi Hotel at 0830 and start having breakfast ( as provided)

then we need to rush our journey to Mt Ijen
